Chemical Energy Optimization Intern
Project Name: Roller Mill Productivity Optimization
Project Duration: 3months
Paid Internship: The pay rate for this internship is commensurate with the candidate's years of schooling and major. The pay scale is between $15 - $26 per hour.
Requirements:
Mechanical, Chemical, & Production engineer degree preferred
Coursework Prerequisites: basic mechanics of flows, transport I/II, mechanics and heat transfer
Location: Sylacauga, Alabama
PROJECT SCOPE:
The project will handle operational parameters, or the “how” the mill is run. There are a set of key parameters (mill and classifier rpm, pressure drop through the system, airflow) that can be adjusted to reach maximum productivity (ton/hour) while still keeping production inside quality specs.
The project does not include any major mechanical modification, either to the mill itself or any of the auxiliary systems.
The project will focus on steady-state conditions - start-up and shutdowns are out of scope.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & DELIVERABLES:
Define productivity parameters using flowmeter systems to key roller mills on Dry Circuit - record a decision tree on how to reach these parameters and include it on a standard operational procedure to rule the operation.
