As Internal Communications Specialist for Ascension St. Thomas, you will develop and implement Internal Communications for Ascension St. Thomas that strengthen the culture, employee experience and operational priorities in the market.
- Develop and implement an Internal Communications plan and content focused on the Tennessee market
- Provide Internal Communications counsel and support to executives and other partner teams
- Combine strategic thinking and big-picture perspective with attention to detail, clarity and focus
- Collaborate with colleagues across the local market as well as enterprise-wide teams to ensure alignment and best practice
- Ensure that communications reflect the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension as a healing ministry of the Catholic Church
- Maintain flexible availability and responsiveness both during and outside of normal work hours as necessary
Complexity of Work:
- Requires excellent writing and project management skills, as well as critical thinking, strategic counseling and decisive judgment. Ideally the candidate will also have a knowledge of the evolving healthcare market, Ascension’s history and current initiatives, and communications practices and standards. Must be able to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment

- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Bachelor's degree. 5 years in an Internal Communications role, ideally with experience working in a healthcare provider system or similar services organization.
Work Experience:
- Experience executing against communications plans and campaigns
- Experience with executive communications and counsel
- Adept at the rapid development of content in support of local business, market and organizational communications needs
- Experience working against clearly outlined KPIs and supporting the reporting of results to multiple teams
