Position Summary: The Internal Communications Lead guides Clayton Home Building Group’s Internal Communications strategies and various change projects. The Communications Lead will oversee the management of internal communication efforts for Clayton Home Building Group’s over 14,000 Team Members using various channels to enhance Team Member experience and provide connection amongst teams.
Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop and execute strategic, multi-purpose content into targeted deliverables for internal communication across diverse channels and mediums
  • Crafts messages that are easily understood and influence the Company’s organizational culture and behavioral objectives
  • Manages communication efforts within Home Building Group and corporate’s internal communication schedule
  • Apply change management best practices to all communications.
  • Create, refine and publish clear, concise quality content by working collaboratively with team members, subject matter experts, managers and leadership across a large company
  • Research, schedule, write and edit a variety of Internal Communications content including, but not limited to white papers, video, presentations, intranet and email across various audiences
  • Maintain long-range content calendar for multiple content categories
  • Distill complex concepts into simple, coherent communications for different audiences
  • Manage the implementation, adoption and day-to-day usage of an app-based enterprise communication platform.
  • Develop daily content as well as long-range content calendars
  • Track and manage adoption and usage rate of platform
  • Work closely with home building and supply facilities as well as builder locations, in addition to the corporate communication team on best practices and content development
  • Manage video projects from conceptualization phase to final execution and delivery
  • Coordinates video projects with various internal and external partners
  • Develops content script
  • Advises stakeholders and actors on video needs and best practices
  • Provides strategic video direction
  • Develop and apply short-term and long-term communication plans for change projects with a focus on change management best practices
  • Design and apply change management communication processes and tools to support change management strategy
  • Assists in assessing change impacts, change readiness and change opportunities through communications
  • Assists in identifying and mitigating resistance through communications
  • Analyze and optimize content practices and metrics to achieve desired results
  • Builds and maintains strong, positive relationships with stakeholders, team members and leadership.
  • Works closely with project management lead to ensure communication across all projects is timely and disseminated to the field in a thoughtful manner
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical or business experience.
  • Outstanding writing skills with keen, detailed attention to grammar.
  • 3-5 years related experience in areas such as communications, journalism, public relations, marketing and change management
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills targeting all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient; able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
Preferred but not required:
  • External or internal organization change management certification
  • Knowledge or experience with ADKAR® change management methodology
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools, including a solid understanding of how people journey through change.
  • Video production experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
Travel Requirements:
  • Potential travel up to 15% of time.
