JOB PROFILE
The Employee Communications Specialist will play a significant role in developing and executing professional Internal Communication strategies. Reporting to the Director, HR Operations the Employee Communications Specialist is responsible for communication content that is delivered within the organization, including reminders, initiatives, policy changes, executive emails, surveys, contests, fundraisers, and job descriptions. This position will require the individual to write, copyedit, proofread and revise communications content as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare strategic employee communication plan for the human resources department
- Manage internal employee communications output
- Work with marketing to publish timely company information
- Work with marketing to ensure employee communication strategy is consistent and reflects the company’s strategic vision
- Set timing of release to coordinate with company employee events or employee initiatives
- Support ideas with research and experience
- Work with marketing to refine core messaging to ensure branding, consistency in all aspects of communication
- Maintain the HR Tile on the Loop
- Edit and revise content as necessary
- Works with marketing to ensure HR information published on company website and other media forms are current
- Edit, design and print internal employee publications
- Update job descriptions and job posting templates for branding consistency
- Measure and present results of communication efforts
- Coordinate with external vendors to print communication material when necessary
- Research most effective communication methods
- Work on other projects as assigned
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, HR or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective Internal Communication strategies and initiatives
- Ability to manage multiple projects and navigate through changing priorities efficiently
