Chief Financial Officer

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is seeking an innovative leader who will be responsible for the overall financial management of MAHHC. The successful candidate will be an effective financial strategist with a track record of accomplishing big goals, fostering sustainable growth, and maintaining positive relationships.

About the job:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key leader for MAHHC, planning and directing the financial services operation, including the development, interpretation, and administration of the hospital’s policies on finance, accounting, insurance, internal controls, and auditing.

As a link to the overall organization strategic plan, the CFO will develop a three-year financial plan and establish the processes to obtain access to financing for major initiatives. This role also monitors debt covenants and other obligations contained in financing agreements to ensure compliance.

The CFO has a direct reporting relationship to the President and CEO of MAHHC and serves as a critical leader in hospital’s Senior Administrative Leadership Team. The CFO provides direction and leadership for Patient Financial Services and Health Information Management teams.

This high visibility position requires that the incumbent can effectively manage change and be capable of implementing new courses of action.

Minimum qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a master’s degree or higher in business administration, public health, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of previous financial management experience in a hospital setting. Experience in a critical access environment and/or within a complex, non-profit health system is preferred.
