Interior Designer

V&H is searching for a creative and detail-oriented candidate to join the team as a full-time Interior Designer. Projects range from full-home redesign to sourcing single items. Designer must be aware of current design trends and vendors and be comfortable working independently on projects from start to finish.

Job Role:

• Use design skills to develop innovative space-planning designs (i.e. new layouts for client spaces) & suggest creative solutions and alterations to client’s current spaces should no large changes be possible.
• Must be able to think on the spot, in front of clients, answering questions and providing ideas for use of various spaces, colors and items within client’s homes.
• Assist project manager with installations & handling post-installation follow-ups with clients, contractors and vendors.
• Create mood boards to provide client with visuals/suggested designs and products
• Visit local vendors to pick-up & drop-off fabrics, furniture, lighting, finishes as needed
• Transport remodel materials from vendors to project sites (tile, fixtures, etc.) should V&H Assistant need additional help.
• Routine tracking on orders & relaying project updates to clients and relevant V&H team members

Requirements:

• Must have at least 1-year of design-related experience
• Must have strong attention to detail with clear understanding of colors and proportion
• Must have knowledge of common design practices, procedures & relevant vendors
• Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills for client correspondence and be able to dress and act professionally for in-person, client meetings
• Must be able to maintain a balanced workflow and meet company deadlines: i.e. highly organized & self-motivated
• Must have reliable transportation (i.e. personal vehicle)
• Must have basic computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel) and the ability to use Canva for client mood boards and product presentations.
• Ability to understand both aesthetic and functional needs within a client’s home

Hours & Pay:

• Designer must be available from approximately 8:30AM – 5PM, Monday – Friday. Hours may vary slightly from week to week based on project load, remodel / contractor schedules, etc.
• Pay starts at $35/hour as contractor with ability to convert to salaried employee within 6-8 months
