Adrianna Papell Group is looking for a creative and highly skilled Assistant Textile Designer for a freelance role on our Creative Services Team. The ideal freelance candidate has strong knowledge and experience using CAD tools like Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator. In this freelance role, the Assistant Textile Designer will be responsible for CAD designs and development of in-season prints and color combination for internal and buyer presentations. Under the direction of the Creative Service Manager, this role provides design and administrative support across all Adrianna Papell dress divisions within the product development time and action calendar. This freelance position is part-time, and the assignment is estimated to be for 2-3 months.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong technical skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Print design and re-colorings.
- Render body sketch CADs in print and color for buyer presentations using Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Work with Sales, Merchandising, and Design Teams to create CADs that reflect design direction and orders.
- Review lap dips, and bulk swatches of fabric for approval.
- Communicate with vendors regarding approvals.
- Create technical artwork packages with all pertinent print information for overseas vendors.
- Communicate with overseas vendors on print development and issue corrective comments on strike-offs and samples.
- Ability to multi-task, to work on multiple design and CAD projects concurrently and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to organize and manage large amounts of files, tasks, schedules, and information to support the Creative Service Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BFA, Fashion or Textile Design preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years CAD design experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative products – specifically Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Technical knowledge of repeat construction and reducing color, preparing artwork for screen, rotary, and digital printing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent eye for color and artistic detail.
