We are looking for an Construction Compliance professional to add to our Carlsbad Office!
The Insurance Coordinator manages subcontractor insurance administration for all assigned DCC projects as well as supporting the Project Coordinator’s in their role and supporting Director of Safety and Risk Management functions. This position functions as link between the Risk Management function and the insurance management platform Trustlayer, brokers and the subcontractor. to ensure subcontractor compliance as it relates to Dickinson Cameron Construction’s insurance programs’ objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze subcontractors certificates of insurance and endorsements for compliance with DCC subcontract agreements and authorize access to job sites
- Identify noncompliant insurance through certificate analysis and exercise discretion in determining need to elevate to Director of Risk and Safety to obtain insurance waivers or overrides.
- Generally serve as a liaison between the Compliance department the subcontractor and Project Coordinators.
- Create an Exhibit B with additional insured information and project specifics.
- Follow up with subcontractors, brokers and agents regarding new, expired and non-compliant insurance.
- Maintain and track subcontractor insurance policy information, using the Trustlayer platform.
- Produce a monthly report with compliance score by project and by Project Coordinator.
- Provide regular communication on the insurance compliance status of individual projects to the project teams.
- Obtain certificates of DCC’s insurance policy as required by contractual obligations
- Train project teams on insurance administration periodically and during Project Coordinator on-boards.
- Support Director of Safety and Risk with training needs for the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, additional legal and/or insurance experience is preferred
- Sound understanding of insurance and knowledge of coverage terms
- Construction background preferred, but not necessary.
- Excellent communication skills (both written / oral) / able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company
- Thorough working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Power point
