We are looking for our next talented Benefits Coordinator to join our growing EB team! The ideal candidate will come from an insurance brokerage and poses an active California DOI Life and Health license. We are hiring immediately! TITLE: Benefits Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Benefits
REPORTS TO: SVP, Small Group Benefits National Practice Leader
FLSA: Non-exempt, Full Time
Position Summary
A detail-oriented team player to support the client service team with administrative tasks. This person must be a critical thinker with a keen eye for accuracy, typos, and mistakes are a must. This person is an intelligent and effective communicator who aligns with our high standards of providing exceptional customer service in the Employee Benefits field.
The primary responsibility is the administration of Liberty clients in relation to day-to-day employee changes, administrative processes, and other services offered to clients. Additionally, completing internal operations related to client services. This position requires the ability to work autonomously and have a strong understanding of the employee benefits arena.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for professional, consistent, and effective communication internally and with clients
- Manage enrollments, changes, and terminations (ECT) with carriers and vendors according to department systems and procedures for all new hires, qualifying events, terminations, and open enrollment
- Manage BenAdmin forms, feedback, new hires, terminations, qualifying events, and changes
- Responsible for following up on requests. Never assume a request is complete unless confirmed
- Responsible for securely confirming ECTs in a timely manner
- Request/download client renewals, register and distribute
- Act as liaison with carriers to resolve claims issues
- Assist producers/AE/AM with projects
- Know when to escalate and/or apprize the producer of unusual activity/red flags on accounts
- Maintain client information in agency management and document management systems
- Acknowledge and respond to any client requests on the same day. Set timeline expectations with clients if an issue will take time to be resolved
- Answer phone calls and emails and respond appropriately to routine and non-routine questions
- Uphold department best practices
- Support team and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active California DOI Life and Health Insurance
- At least two years of client service or benefits administration in benefits brokerage/insurance industry
- Work schedule: 8:30 – 5:00pm PST M-F
- Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
Minimum Qualifications:
- Benefits product and eligibility knowledge
- Proficient in MS Office Suite; advanced typing
- Working Knowledge of BenefitPoint system desirable
- Working knowledge and experience with BenAdmin systems like Ease and Employee Navigator
- Excellent and consistent communication skills
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
- Boast strong problem-solving and detective skills
- Great organizational and detail-oriented ability
- Ability to work self-directed while also a part of a team
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize effective
