Title:Insurance Billing Specialist / Consultant
Location: Just south of the Downtown Granite Falls, NC
Position Purpose:
Processing insurance claims as part of a small team for 120 different providers. Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Verifying benefits for new patients
- Posting insurance payments and submitting insurance claims
- Follow up on unpaid claims utilizing monthly aging reports and file appeals when appropriate to obtain maximum reimbursement
- General office clerical work and data entry
Training will be provided for these skills, but billing and data entry experience is preferred.
Required/Preferred Skills:
- Attention to details and high accuracy rate with typing and data entry
- Able to follow written processes, verbal direction and learn new skills quickly and accurately
- Ability to work with confidential information (HIPAA)
- Well organized and able to self- prioritize work and proactively solve problems
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management
- Ability to work professionally and with high quality while working from home
- Medicaid billing experience preferred
- Prior data entry experience preferred
- Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and Teams experience preferred
- Have or willing to procure Independent Contractor Liability Insurance

- $20'ish starting per hour based on prior experience
- 12-30 hours a week based on workload and schedule
