JLAN Solutions is seeking a talented Instructional Designer to join our team at the FAA.The Instructional Designer will provide support in updating and redesigning course materials, developing engaging assessments, and assisting with the evaluation of training programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design, course development, and adult learning principles.
What you'll be doing:
- Update existing AAP-330-owned course materials by identifying and incorporating changes to Acquisition Management System (AMS) policy/guidance, FAA manuals, and applicable Federal Government rules, Acts, regulations, guides, circulars, or memos
- Redesign existing AAP-330-owned course materials by conducting FAA and/or AMS research on the training topic and then helping to create new modules, lessons, sub-lessons, class exercises, assessments, and final exams
- Assist with customizing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) course materials to include AMS-specific policy and guidance or other agency content
- Assist with developing course outlines, Course Design Guides, Instructor Guides, Student Guides, and class presentation PowerPoint slides using our team’s templates
- Participate in course pilots for newly redesigned or developed AAP-330-owned training by tracking and documenting FAA-identified revisions
- Complete identified course pilot revisions and prepare AAP-330-owned training materials for implementation
- Maintain the AAP-330 Course Content Library Knowledge Services Network (KSN) website by ensuring that revised, updated, and customized course materials are uploaded to the respective folder for team use
- Develop engaging and innovative formative and summative assessments of adult learning for AAP-330-owned courses
- Develop adult learner-centric, real-world FAA class exercises and course capstones for AAP-330-owned training that will serve as experiential learning
- Assist with developing and executing an evaluation strategy for new and current AAP-330-owned courses
- Maintain the AAP-330-Owned Content Library MS Teams channel by uploading final course materials to the respective folder for use by vendors
What you'll bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in instructional design or related role
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Systems or government training programs
