Job Description
The Medicare Inside Sales Representative works with eligible consumers to determine their health insurance needs and provide education and sales guidance on The Health Plan Medicare plans. This is generally done by answering inbound phone calls, following up with web/business reply card inquiries, etc. They will also enroll consumers into one of our Medicare plans when appropriate.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build client relationships.
- Must possess or be able to obtain appropriate agent license within three months of hire date.
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to clearly explain the benefits offered by The Health Plan Medicare products in a manner that ensures consumer understanding.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have a high level of time management and organizational skills.
- Must have a valid drivers license and mode of transportation.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity, discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential information.
Desired:
- College degree with courses in business, marketing, communications, or health administration. Health insurance industry and/or Medicare product related work experience will also be considered.
- Ability to generate leads from referrals.
- Knowledge of applicable insurance markets and sales trends is helpful.
Responsibilities:
- Uses a consultative approach to discuss health insurance needs with interested consumers. This may include inbound callers, web/email inquiries, business reply cards, etc.
- Responsible to work all assigned leads until the sales loop is closed.
- Enrolls consumers into a The Health Plan Medicare product either by paper, telephonic or electronic means.
- Remains up to date and familiar with competitor's health insurance plans and industry trends.
- Maintains accurate and timely record of all lead information including: call results, follow up effort and opportunities developed.
- Completes and submits sales and production reports to management as requested.
- Must keep up to date on all federal, state and company guidelines to ensure they are applied to each prospective sales situation.
- Able to achieve sales goals, as applicable.
- Participates in and successfully completes all company certification requirements to sell. This is upon hire and annually thereafter.
