Org. Setting and Reporting
This is a six-month temporary position located in the Office of the Executive Secretary. The incumbent will report to the Information Systems Officer.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Information Management Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: To effectively perform the Help Desk duties under the guidance of the Information Systems Officer; To monitor all incoming issues as received by the support email account; To acknowledge and screen the received issues; To work on deploying new Laptops and Desktops to Staff following the SOP established by the Information Systems Officer; To communicate with the Information Systems Officer, IT coordinator and development team regarding specific issues, providing details and making suggestions; To notify users of issues that have been resolved/closed as instructed by the Information Systems Officer; To effectively perform the duties of a quality assurance tester for IT systems under the guidance of the IT coordinator; To perform additional tasks as required, to assist the IT team with the upkeep of IT systems; To assist the collection of user feedback and suggestions; To assist maintaining and updating project documentation; To participate in meetings with substantive areas; To assist in the storage of ICSC records; To maintain statistics on service and workload measures.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
The conditions of service are governed by the United Nations Staff Rules and Regulations. This is a temporary appointment for a period of 6 months. United Nations Considerations

Candidates who have committed crimes other than minor traffic offences may not be considered for employment. Due regard will be paid to the importance of recruiting the staff on as wide a geographical basis as possible.
