The Community: Montgomery, Alabama
Montgomery, the capital of Alabama, is known as the Capital of Dreams. Named for Richard Montgomery, it is located on the Alabama River, in the Gulf Coastal Plain. It is the second largest city in Alabama, after Birmingham, and the 103 rd largest in the US with a population of 200 as of the 2020 Census. Montgomery has won several national awards including being voted Best Historic City by USA Today, being named an All-America City in 2014 by the National Civic League, and being named the happiest city in Alabama. Montgomery has also been recognized nationally for its successful and ongoing downtown revitalization and new urbanism projects with Montgomery having been one of the first cities in the nation to implement Smart Code Zoning. In addition to housing many Alabama government agencies, public and private universities, high-tech manufacturing and cultural attractions, Montgomery has a large military presence due to Maxwell Air Force Base.

The Facility: Gunter Air Force Base
Gunter AFB is an annex of Maxwell AFB in the northeast suburbs of Montgomery, AL. Until 1992 it was known as Gunter Air Force Base or Gunter Air Force Station. It has been a military training base since its opening in 1940. Gunter Annex is a subordinate installation under the administration of the 42d Air Base Wing at nearby Maxwell Air Force Base .
It is the home of the Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate. The BES provides and supports secure combat information systems and networks for the United States Air Force, the Department of Defense and other Federal Government Agencies.
Responsibilities:
Performs official IAO responsibilities for the program. Primarily responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system (IS) for the Department's Restricted Programs, working in close collaboration with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM). Maintains the overall IA posture for a restricted program. Responsibilities include physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness. In close coordination with the ISSM, plays an active role in monitoring a system and its environment of operation to include developing and updating the System Security Plan (SSP), managing and controlling changes to the information system, and assessing the impact of those changes. Trained in NIST RMF.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business administration or a technology-related field required.
- CISSP and CCNA or MTA certifications
- Minimum of 4 -8 years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security and IT jobs.
- Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of personal integrity.
- Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate crossfunctional, interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience with contract and vendor negotiations and management including managed services.
- Specific experience in Agile (scaled) software development or other best in class development practices.
- Have and Maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
