Essential Functions
1. Responsible for the infection control program
2. Collaborate with facility leadership and medical director to develop, implement and evaluate the annual infection control plan
3. Partner wiht facility leaders, physicians, local, state adn national agencies on activities related to infection prevention
4. Establish a system for the prevention, identification, investigation and control of infections of residents, staff and volunteers
5. Conduct outbreak investigations
6. Maintain a system for reporting possible incidents of commynicable diseases to ocal, state or national agencies as required
7. Assess need for, develop and present infection control in-service education for individual departments, general orientation and annuyal review as needed.
8. Assess the need for, develop and implement written policies and procedures for infection control including standard and transmission based precautions
9. Enforce policies prohibiting employees form working when they have communciable diseases or open skin leisions
10. Serve as a member of the QAPI committee
11. Be accountable for surveillance of healthcare-acquired adn community-acquired infections
12. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and ensure tha the facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues, understand and comply with infection control safety and OSHA procedures and regulations
13. Perform any other duties as may be necessary as specified by the Direcotor of Nursing or Administrator
