Infection Preventionist

Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred but will consider candidate with Associates Degree
- IP Certification through the Beacon Institute or the ability to attain the certification within 6 months
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in infection prevention or control
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, including OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Duties
- Oversee the development and works in coordination with HR of an infection control program and employee health program in compliance with the federal and state regulations and guidelines

-Provide the DON abd QA with pertinent information regarding infection control issues
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with infection control standards
- Collect and analyze data related to infection rates and trends
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop strategies for preventing and controlling infections
- Review patient records and documentation to identify potential areas for improvement
- Educate staff on infection prevention protocols and best practices

-Facilitate infection control training for all new hires during orientation
- Monitor patient outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement
- Stay up-to-date with current research and guidelines in infection prevention

-Maintain, handle ans update Covid-19 outbreak records, perform testing, contact tracing and reporting to state and federal agencies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.68 - $48.08 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
