*This position requires the candidate to obtain the Child Abuse Clearance, State of PA Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprint check, and the Narional Sex Offender Registry Verification prior to their first day of employment
QUALIFICATIONS & DUTIES
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred OR Three (3) years of experience with young children.
- Able to handle crisis situations professionally
- Ability to interact in a warm, supportive, nurturing manner with children and parents.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of child development.
- Effective communication skills in relation to children, parents and colleagues.
- Able to maintain a Safe & Healthy environment
- Must be able to lift children, sit on the floor, actively join in children’s play and move furniture. Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals such as bleach and detergents. Must be able to change diapers.
- Must pass the pre-employment health screening and drug testing requirements, and complete current FBI fingerprinting, state police and Childline clearances.
- Is respectful of people whose race, religion, culture, sexual orientation or values differs from one’s own
- Experience with the Creative Curriculum & Reggio Emilia.
- Experienced with mixed-age groupings
- Experienced with Keystone Star Curriculum
- Must be Flexible & Team Player
