This is a Part-time position, approximately 24 hours weekly (Monday through Thursday from 8:00-3:00 pm). Punctuality is essential. This is located at our Walnut Campus. Training for this position will start May 22. 2023, there will be some summer work. Official work begins in August 2023. A strong candidate will know how an Independent Study Program operates. An understanding of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. All employees at Valley Life must be flexible in their assigned duties. These are some responsibilities of the support staff: Report directly to the Director of The Independent Study Program. Initiate and receive various phone calls and respond efficiently and accurately to inquiries from schools, offices, staff, students, parents, and the public. Supervise students who are working in the study area. Provide administrative support to the Director, including scheduling meetings Assume responsibility for registering and enrolling new students; prepare, process, and verify enrollment documents, class rosters, and forms; compile and send records and information for student transfers; input and update information for adding/dropping students in assigned software programs. Establish and maintain a variety of files, records, and systems which may contain confidential materials; Supervise Independent Study students referred to the office; assist in supervising students entering and exiting school grounds.
Minimum Requirements: First aid and CPR certified Valid TB Clearance by first day of employment Clear Criminal Background/Fingerprint Clearance Maintain acceptable standards of physical health, energy and emotional adjustment to the job environment. Computer skills- proficiency in Microsoft and the G-suite (i.e, Google, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and more.) 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional assistant test. Qualifications: Commitment to the mission and goals of the school Ability to effectively communicate with the school's stakeholders Entrepreneurial thinking and strategic vision Ability to communicate clearly to multiple, diverse constituencies Good judgment and compassion A belief that all students can learn at the speed of personal potential. Professional Qualifications: Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families by following the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and be responsive to colleagues, funders, administration, Board of Directors, and parents, etc Maintain a professional appearance and follow the dress code pursuant of the Employee Handbook. Ability to work well independently and within a team environment; working efficiently, and exercising excellent judgment in making decisions. Good communication and interpersonal skills Apply common sense understanding of detailed multi-step instructions in a combination of written, oral and diagrammatic form.
