We are searching for a full-time and experienced Immigration Attorney to join our Immigration/Criminal Department. Our firm staffs over fourteen employees and we are looking for the perfect candidate to join us. The ideal candidate should possess a team mentality, high ethical principles, and a solid commitment to the causes that we fight for.
Additionally, the Immigration/Criminal Attorney must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to multitask, and meet deadlines on time. Job Description:
In our Immigration Department, you will need to be able to draft and file petitions, applications, and briefs, attend USCIS/EOIR hearings, and communicate with clients regarding case processing and procedural issues.
In our Criminal Department, you will work closely with our experienced team of legal professionals, representing clients facing criminal charges ranging from Class B misdemeanors all the way up to serious first-degree felonies.
Additional Attorney responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Immigration:
- Represent clients in court proceedings including Individual Hearings, Removal Proceedings, Bond Hearings, and Cancellation of Removal Proceedings.
- Adjustment of Status
Drafting and submitting BIA Appeals; and
- Drafting and submitting Motions to Reopen/Reconsider.
Criminal:
· Represent clients in court proceedings including arraignments, hearings, and trials.
· Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
· Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and appeals.
· Maintain communication with clients, keeping them informed about their case status.
· Negotiate with prosecutors to secure favorable plea agreements, when appropriate
· Review and analyze discovery materials, police reports, and evidence.
· Communication with Court Staff/ Personnel
· Managing calendar appointments and court dates.
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in Immigration/Criminal Law preferred.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English/Spanish fluently.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Excellent Writer
- Must be organized.
- Must be willing to travel.
Pay:
- $70,000.00 - $90,000.00/year - Depending on Experience
- Performance based bonus(es)

Dress Code:
Business attire as we maintain and present a professional environment for our clients. Casual Fridays are ok except when scheduled court hearings are required (you'll have plenty of notice).

· Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office

· 1+ years work experience as legal assistant
· Familiarity with immigration forms and required supporting evidence preferred
