Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts
- Assist with case management and preparation for hearings and trials
- Review and analyze legal documents and agreements
- Conduct negotiations with opposing parties
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including oral arguments and trial advocacy
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case strategy and preparation
Skills:
- Bilingual in Spanish. Strong personal skills. The job requires person to go to court on a daily basis to advocate on behalf of people charged with crimes. May require some jury trials in the future. Possibly some Immigration hearings in Immigration court.
Strong legal drafting skills, with the ability to write clear and concise legal documents
- Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively advocate for clients' interests
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective client communication
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
