IBM iSeries Applications Engineer/ Programmer

Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking an experienced IBM iSeries ERP Software Developer. This will be a full-time, permanent position located in Fort Wayne, IN. Office hours are M-F 8:00am- 5:00pm. Knowledge and experience with RPG language is REQUIRED.

Job Summary: Responsible for the timely, efficient, cost-effective creation, implementation, and support of IBMi applications for our business by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following:

• Collaborates with IT Manager - ERP department managers to gather and prioritize project and application requirements.
• Designs information solutions that make business processes more effective.
• Writes Software applications for the company ERP systems.
• Designs testing and verifications processes and standards for quality control of software systems solutions, conducting tests to assure that company, user, and regulatory specifications are met.
• Maintains consistency of design for similar solutions and from one generation of design to the next.
• Develop estimates within given time and cost constraints to develop new or redesigned applications.
• Establishes and maintains a project implementation schedule and summary for all projects.
• Documents solutions for users and future support, maintenance, and improvements.
• Trains users in new applications and techniques to improve productivity.
• Provides user support for company software systems including trouble shooting and training.

Education & Experience:

• Degree in Software Development or Software Engineering preferred; but not needed.
• 5+ years of related programming (RPG PHP) experience required
• Experience managing projects and processes
