The Fronius USA Perfect Welding (PW) Application Engineer is both independent and a team player within our tech support team. This position needs a strong connection to the trade of welding and technology in general. The welding Application Engineer is responsible for implementing and following the PW sales strategy using in-depth and advanced welding techniques. This individual is responsible for demonstrating the value of Fronius products and services to new and existing customers.
The goal of an Application Engineer is to provide welding support to our regions and customers, promote the Fronius brand in the welding industry, and increase market share. A successful Application Engineer possesses excellent communication and welding skills, is highly organized, and can work independently. This position reports to the National Tech Support Manager and requires frequent travel to customer sites, installation sites, and meetings.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting all aspects of Fronius Welding Technology and Equipment
- Conduct weld tests for clients or prospective clients and document the results on Fronius Intranet (CRM, SharePoint)
- Record all customer related activity in our CRM Platform
- Organize products and conduct weld tests prior to and during production start-up at customer location
- Evaluate client's needs to offer products, services, upgrades and overall solutions to their welding challenges
- Work independently with existing and prospect customers, providing guidance and support on Fronius Perfect Welding products
- Understand customer needs and provide suggestions, in verbal and written form, for needed spare parts and other materials to be stocked by the customer
- Provide customer support: product availability, pricing, quotations, special situations, information for bids, equipment documentation and weld demonstrations
- Provide e-mail and telephone support for routine and complex welding queries/problems
- Provide technical support for introducing products/systems/processes into the market
- Programming, troubleshooting, and testing of automated systems (such as robots and hard automation)
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Must be willing and authorized to travel throughout the USA and possibly overseas
- Travel up to 50%
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Experience in the field and/or Welding Engineering Technology
- Have a high interest in technology and in particular enjoys the trade of welding
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or German a plus
- Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Able to work independently and/or remotely
