TerraSond is looking to add an experienced Hydrographic Data Processor to the team. The Hydrographic Data Processor is responsible for planning, processing, and analyzing multibeam, side scan sonar, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler data. Under the supervision of the Subject Matter Expert, she or he collaborates with other Data Processors, Project Managers and other SME's to plan, acquire, process and analyze multi-sensor datasets. The Data Processor is responsible for providing elements of final reports.
This role entails periods of offshore work and will require time spent on a vessel and may take place in inclement weather and extreme temperatures. Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, long days, and evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines. Offshore travel is required.
Duties
- Process and analyze hydrographic and geophysical data including but not limited to data collected with: Multi Beam Echo Sounder, Side Scan Sonar, Magnetometer/Gradiometer, sub-bottom profiler systems and other sensors used to assess the character and physical measurements upon and beneath the seafloor
- Analyze and process data using project specified software packages such as QPS Qimera, CARIS, Sonar Wiz, Oasis Montaj, Radex Pro, GlobalMapper and similar packages
- Process field data for Quality Assurance and Quality Control of collected and processed Hydrographic Data
- Participate in and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Process Hydrographic Data both in conjunction with geophysical survey data and solely
- Participates to professional courses and seminars
- Performs other duties or completes special projects as assigned
Required
- BS or MS in Geophysics/Hydrography/Oceanography
- Experience with Hydrographic Data processing software
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Initiative (self-starter), requiring little to no direct direction from leadership
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
