With this position, our desire is to find a HVAC/R Service Manager living in the Houston metro area. Our office and shop are in Humble, Texas.
Job Description
The HVAC/R Service Manager will be goal driven and results oriented in their approach to leading their territory to growth and profitability. The HVAC/R Service Manager values people and processes to produce profitable results through good decision making. The HVAC/R Service Manger is committed to building a healthy culture that cultivates excellence and professionalism.
Compensation
Starting pay at $90,000 annually or more, based on experience with opportunities for additional incentive pay based on revenue and profitability goals. As a HVAC/R Service Manager, you will have access to company provided transportation, company credit card, company cell phone and laptop. Job Duties:
- Good interpersonal skills to develop technicians, customer relations, and ability to work with upline reports.
- Dispatch Service Technicians daily, forecasting labor needs in advance
- Although though not primarily a field position, a HVAC/R Service Manager must demonstrate an ability to respond to higher level service calls and consistently and accurately troubleshoot and diagnose issues on commercial split systems, packaged units, self-contained refrigeration, ice machines, AAON brand equipment, VRF systems, chillers, and boilers, etc.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills with your subordinates and customer base.
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal relational skills, and be an organized, proactive, and positive individual.
- Although not primarily a field a position, a HVAC/R Service Manager must demonstrate the ability to provide high quality preventative maintenance services to our agreement customers and lead a coach subordinate to do the same.
- Must be internally motivated and exhibit habits of self-study and pursuit of knowledge and skill sets in the HVAC/R industry, in both subjects of field related concepts as well as management styles and techniques.
- Must exhibit strong customer relation skills and be the main point of contact for our customers in emergency situations.
- After being taught, a HVAC/R Service Manager must have a mastery level understanding of our preventative maintenance agreements and can express them and their benefits to our customers and potential customers.
- Must be able to effectively drive corrective and repair work orders and quote short term as well as long term solutions to our customer and coach Service Technicians to do the same.
- Must be able to network within the community and show an ability to recruit new field service staff.
- The HVAC/R Service Manager leads technicians who perform planned maintenance programs and service calls to our commercial and industrial customers.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of combined field service work and management in the commercial and industrial HVAC/R industry
- Completion of High School or GED
- EPA Universal
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass a drug test.
- Criminal background check
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Physical Job Requirements:
A HVAC/R Service Manager is required to:
- Can stand for prolonged periods routinely, throughout the daily work schedule.
- The English language is primary. Bi-lingual is a bonus.
- Can walk around the job site, to business meetings, etc...
- Can operate a computer and other industry specific productivity machinery, such as a calculator and telephone.
- Can talk/hear/communicate with Cary Services office staff and/or customers by phone or in person, exchanging accurate information in these situations.
- Can repeatedly lift irregularly shaped tools/hardware weighing 50 pounds, throughout the workday.
- Can climb ladders and work on building roofs productively at heights of 50 feet.
- Can work in extreme hot and cold conditions.
