About the Position: Serves as a senior staff-level Civilian Human Resources (HR) Specialist with responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of civilian HR program areas to all levels of management officials within the IMCOM Readiness enterprise consisting of 24 assigned garrisons.Qualifications:

This is a developmental position, which can be filled at the GS-12 or GS-13 grade level. You will work in a developmental capacity performing assignments and completing training, both of which are aimed at preparing you to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of the full performance level. The candidate placed in this position may be non-competitively promoted to the target grade of GS-13 if he or she has satisfactorily demonstrated the ability to perform at the higher grade level, meets all regulatory (such as time in grade) and qualification requirements for promotion, has been recommended for promotion by the supervisor and the target position is supported at the time of the promotion.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify at the GS-12: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes analyzing policies and procedures involving at least one of the following Human Resources disciplines: recruitment and staffing, classification and position management, pay, leave/benefits/retirement, employee relations, performance management, awards or workforce development; researching and evaluating criteria to resolve Human Resources issues; utilizing effective communication, both verbally and in writing, to develop briefings, reports, and correspondence.

To qualify at the GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing policies and procedures involving at least three of the following Human Resources disciplines: recruitment and staffing, classification and position management, pay, leave/benefits/retirement, employee relations, or performance management; researching and evaluating criteria to resolve complex Human Resources issues; utilizing experience and Human Resources knowledge to ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures; utilizing effective communication, both verbally and in writing, to develop and deliver briefings, reports, and correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
