Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, career-driven professional to join our team in the role of HR Generalist. Primary Responsibilities
· Assist in the planning and implementation of new HRIS, including brainstorm, meeting with vendors, and testing applications
· Help maintain compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations
· Conduct recruitment work and most administrative tasks for hiring and onboarding (New hire entries)
· Provide information to employees on leaves, benefits, union dues, and other employee-relations matters.
· Help in coordination performance appraisal process
· Assist in the creation, implementation, communication and upkeep of new policies and the employee handbook
· Assist with the administration of benefits plans, including open enrollment and vendor relationships
· Maintain both physical and digital employee files, including documents related to benefits, union membership, and the like
· Develop employee engagement plans, obtain necessary budgetary approvals, and initiate activities to foster a positive work environment
· Generate official internal documents, such as offer letters, appointment emails, and disciplinary warnings
Education Requirements and Skills
· Required education or years of related experience: University degree in HR field or business OR 4 -6 years related experience
· Familiarity with Labor Laws as related to HR and best practices
· MUST have excellent written communication skills
· Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required
· HR certification (SHRM) a plus but not required
· Able to work autonomously with minimal oversight
· Proficiency with the following software systems: Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams; HRIS (Kronos or UKG a plus); Adobe Acrobat
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
