WayFinder Logistics is a fast-growing, third-party logistics (3PL) company offering freight brokerage (non- asset-based transportation) services, including intermodal, rail, truckload and LTL brokerage, transportation management and international services.
WayFinder seeks a personable and highly organized Accounting Professional to join our team.
As an Accounting Assistant you will be responsible for a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing reports, processing business transactions (AP/AR) and running accounting software programs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Assist accounting team with budgets, forecasting, audits and other accounting processes
- Assist with or perform reconciliations
- Perform general clerical duties to assist accounting teams
- Interact with clients or vendors to handle general inquiries, payments, refunds and statements
- Daily entering of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Constantly update job knowledge
- Follow operating procedures and protocols
- Work to achieve the company's annual goals and objectives
- Play a critical role in efforts to ensure high levels of customer service, teamwork and a positive culture
- Process Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables (AP/AR)
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and other Accounting Platforms
- Record day to day financial transactions
- Daily Check Deposits
- Maintain required business documents
- Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding and processing payments
- Perform other related duties as may be requested by Manager

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong communications skills with a positive and engaging personality
- Prior experience with QuickBooks preferred (not required)
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Well organized and ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Comprehension of analytical reports
- Aptitude for numbers, as well as data entry
- Ability to work independently, as well as within a team setting
- Proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
