The Human Resources Generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with superb organizational and time management skills. Must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatize in a fast-paced environment. The Human Resources Generalist should display remarkable conflict management and decision making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and benefits administration and be superb at problem-solving, efficient in scheduling and precise in the recruitment process. The Human Resources Generalist must have advanced computer and calculator skills; excellent coordinating consumer relation and organizational skills; excellent telephone skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; good filing, documenting, and recording skills; adaptable, flexible and able to maintain effectiveness during change; cultural competence; energy and enthusiasm; ability to work well with others and take directions. .WORK DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Assists the HR Director with day to day HR functions and duties.
- Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
- Assist with benefit administration.
- Assist with the overall recruitment process.
- Assist with the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
- Assist with performance evaluation procedures.
- Coordinate training sessions as needed and ensure employees are in compliance.
- Maintain and update training records and full organization training processes and procedures
- Perform on-boarding and orientations and updates records of new staff.
- Assist with maintaining HRIS system (ADP), Relias Training system, SmartSheets.
- Perform Internal HR Audits
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity as needed.
- Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.
- Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practice.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, documents and all records within the HR Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors' degree in Human Resources or related (essential) and 2 - 3 years of experience working in Human Resources.
- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- Effective HR administration and people management skills.
- Exposure to payroll practices.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
- Experience with online recruitment/advertising sites - e.g.: Indeed, LinkedIn, Monster, etc.
- HRIS experience, preferably ADP/ADP Workforce Now.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately follow instructions.
- No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to keep strict confidentiality and work with diverse populations.
