About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of HR duties and functions, including recruitment and onboarding, training and development, HRIS administration, and benefits. The HR Generalist works closely with the HR team and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and to provide exceptional customer service to employees.

Your Responsibilities

•    Promotes positive employee relations through effective communication and relationship-building.
•    Provide support to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
•    Support the onboarding process by preparing new employee paperwork, creating employee files, conducting orientation, and coordinating with other departments.
•    Facilitate orientation sessions for new employees and open enrollment, manage the enrollment process for medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits through online systems.
•    Conduct annual open enrollment processes.
•    Assist employees with  benefit-related inquiries, enrollments, and changes.
•    Manage and track tuition reimbursement administration.
•    Assists in routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
•    Maintains strict confidentiality and data integrity.
•    Maintain the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
•    Develop and maintain HRIS documentation, procedures, and user guides.
•    Maintains employee records and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
•    Assist in compiling data and preparing reports related to HR metrics, such as turnover, headcount, and staffing levels.
•    Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
•    Manage and drive our student programs including co-op rotations, summer internship programs and student presentations. 
•    Maintain and track Novi Seating training along with Magna Corporate compliance training for new hires and current employees. 
•    Assist with immigration visa renewals, I94 updates, work permits and travel letters
•    Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
•    Performs other duties as assigned.
•    Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).
•    Supports the requirements as detailed din Standard Operating Procedure 8000 (Quality Management system).
•    Ensure employees work in the manner consistent with the organizations established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations. Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety. Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training occur, as defined.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.


Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills
Minimum 2-3 years HR experience with staffing, benefits, training and development and student programs. 
Working knowledge of Federal and State employment laws.
Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentations. Ability to manage employee communications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 
Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday. 
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
