Metals USA has an opportunity for an HR Generalist supporting Cooksey located in Tifton, Albany, and Statesboro, Georgia. This role will also provide Human Resources administrative services in Oakwood, Georgia.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources preferred and minimum of four -six years of related experience as a HR Consultant or HR Generalist in a manufacturing/industrial plant required.
· Ability to travel 25%
· Thorough understanding and comprehension of all Human Resources principles and practices, to include employment law, Affirmative Action and EEOC compliance.
· Ability to manage to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work with all levels of management and develop critical working relationships.
· Ability to communicate oral & written effectively with both internal and external HR customers.
· Ability to encourage employees through employee engagement and diversity & inclusion programs.
· Ability to make timely and sound decisions using good judgment.
· Ability to organize, plan and problem-solve using analytical skills.
· Must possess flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
· Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Possess current driver’s license in good standing.
· SHRM or PHR desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs daily administrative duties in support of Human Resources functions such as recruiting, benefit administration, company policy interpretation in accordance with stated company objectives, federal, and state legal requirements.
· Assists in the development, coordination and deliverance of training programs, performance appraisal process, compensation systems, and benefit programs for assigned facilities.
· Performs benefits administration to include claim resolution, change reporting, wellness programs and communicating benefits information to employees.
· Maintains EEO-1 files and reports annually as required.
· Coordinate all aspects of the on-boarding process for new hires; offer letter, background check, drug screen, new hire package, conduct orientation, verify paperwork to ensure accuracy.
· Assists with employee relations activities and programs included but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs for assigned locations.
· Maintains Human Resources Information System records and compiles reports from database and state and federal required reports. department records, employee records, Human Resources information reports & compiles reports from the HRIS database.
· Maintains company organizational charts as required.
· Builds strong relationships with all department managers and supervisors to help with their Human Resources needs.
· Performs other related duties as required.
