Summary: This position will assist in the administration of Human Resources policies and procedures. Assists in coordinating and managing various HR site relation initiatives. Assists in advising, coaching, and counseling employees on relevant issues. Educates departments on HR processes and procedures. Assist and support management with handling and resolving Human Resources issues.
Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
- Ensure all efforts are aligned with the overall strategic direction of the company and the Human Resources Department
- Provide guidance and clarification on policies and answer team member questions regarding Human Resources.
- Ensure department management is trained and complies with related policies and procedures for both the department and the company
- Assist location managers with efficient day-to-day implementation and operation of the HR policies and best practices.
- Ensure overall compliance with HR policies, practices, guidelines, and all federal, state, and local laws. Understanding wage and hour, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and ACA.
- Review, investigate, document and respond to manager and employees needs, concerns and questions. This includes discipline, performance reviews, benefits, payroll, attendance, etc.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Handle all unemployment claims and workers compensation claims
- Collaborates with HR leadership to execute and implement HR initiatives (i.e., roll out of annual programs, new programs, policies) at the site.
- Evaluate and advise client groups on the attraction, motivation, development and retention of their teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree Majoring in Human Resources or other related field
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive CA Human Resources Generalist experience with an emphasize in employee relation
- Must have worked in Manufacturing, Warehousing or similar blue collar industries
- Proficient Excel skills, and general PC/ MS Office experience
- Highly analytical, with passion for and knowledge of HR trends and use of data insights
- Effective/proven decision making skills, including the ability to identify a potential situation or issue and deal with it appropriately and in a timely manner, both fairly and equitably
- Strong organizational skills; detail and process oriented
- Strength of character to pursue the HR excellence agenda and articulate this throughout the site
Desired Qualifications
- Professional in Human Resources CA(PHR) or SHRM-CP
- Knowledge of payroll programs and practices (ADP)
- Fluent and proficient speaking, reading, writing in English
- Compensation, including salary banding, grading and incentive design is a plus
Travel may be required.
For US Candidates
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $53,455 to $75,000
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
