SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing assistance in the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources function for the Faribault facility. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to employees, supervisors, and managers at the Faribault facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in recruiting and hiring activities
- Prepare welcome letters, new hire files, and make new hire orientation folders
- Assist in new hire orientation and onboarding
- Conduct background checks and report discrepancies to the Human Resources Manager
- Time and Attendance set up and maintenance
- ID/security badge set up and maintenance
- Employee file maintenance in compliance with federal and local guidelines
- Create and distribute employee communication materials as directed
- Provide employee support, troubleshoot questions and refer to the appropriate resource
- Be well versed in the company's benefits to provide information and support for staff
- Assist employees with time off requests
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS
- Conduct exit interviews and report results to the Human Resources Manager
- Assist with employee recognition activities to include the holiday party, luncheons, service awards, etc.
- Support facility training and safety initiatives and assist where necessary
- Assist in management of employee uniform program and resolve issues
- Participate in Human Resources staff meetings
- Support and assist Human Resources team
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred. Human Resources certification(s) preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years of demonstrated Human Resources support experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access and HRIS
Bilingual skills helpful
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Human Resources Manager
Works closely with facility employees, managers, supervisors and other Human Resources personnel
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, use hands and fingers and climb stairs. This job requires the employee to be able to read, write and communicate orally in English. The employee must be able to hear and have color vision.
