General Summary: We are recruiting for two part-time Human Resources Coordinators to manage all HR and Payroll functions for Healthcare South's 10 office locations. The highest priority for this role is to manage Human Resources to achieve Healthcare South corporate objectives and to assist senior management in achieving company and departmental goals. An exempt, management position responsible for managing and coordinating the policies, and practices of Human Resources including staffing, compensation, payroll, benefits administration, and regulatory requirements and programs. Primary responsibility for processing, managing, and reporting on payroll issues as well as performing day to day payroll operations when required.
Note: It is important that the individual accepts all other duties as assigned and is flexible and adjusts to change as needed well.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensures the development of departmental plans, goals, mission, and policies/procedures.
- Develops/implements Human Resources plan for Healthcare South Sites including recruitment, selection, promotion/transfer, orientation, compensation administration, and labor relations in collaboration with management team. Educates/advises Office Managers and Physicians/Shareholders on personnel issues including termination, labor disputes, morale.
- Reviews Healthcare South compensation and recommends changes to ensure sites remain competitive with market rates for wages/salaries and benefits.
- Maintains/monitors records of worker's compensation, equal employment opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), unemployment, and other employee claims. Collects exit interview data if requested. Recommends changes to policy and training to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Practices open-door policy to encourage employees to discuss grievances but insists they start with their manager whenever possible. Facilitates peer-to-peer and employee–manager discussion/mediations.
- Coordinates and administers health, dental, and life insurance plans; disability; flexible spending accounts; retirement savings plan; profit sharing programs; tuition reimbursement; COBRA; and personal leaves of absence.
- Review for accuracy and maintains the Human Resources database.
- Creates reports regarding benefits.
- Develops and conducts new employee orientation at corporate office, available to assist at physician sites when needed to explain benefit packages available. Maintains and distributes new hire packets to physician sites.
- Ensures compliance with medical practice policies and procedures and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Establishes systems and procedures that ensure the appropriate and timely payment of employees.
- Manages the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
- Oversees the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Generates reports from databases to disseminate information to internal departments and external entities
- Records sick leave, vacation hours, and overtime by comparing authorization forms to time reports.
- Processes COBRA, jury duty, short- and long-term disability payments.
- Adds and deletes employees from payroll and accounting systems.
- Processes employment verifications forms, wage assignments, levies, and child support.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or Human Resources preferred. MBA is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in personnel management. Progressively increasing levels of responsibility is helpful. Two years or more in the health care industry is desirable. Payroll processing experience.
Other Requirements: Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated. Microsoft Office Suite use and experience a must. Ability to follow direction well and work well with teams, staff and senior management.
