POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing key systems and processes. You will oversee essential HR functions that help implement systems to enrich the employee experience company-wide and for our valued Swing Substitutes. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of handling day-to-day HR responsibilities. This role provides broad exposure to diverse HR programs including unemployment insurance, benefits, compensation, performance management, employee relations, and more.
This non-exempt position will be full-time remote with possible minimal offsite responsibilities located in Northern California. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as the ability to complete general administrative duties, including but not limited to unemployment and claims responsibilities. This role reports into the Human Resources Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This role will assist the People Team by executing daily administrative processes related to the employee life cycle, and work on special projects
- Back-up for unemployment claims coordinator handling EDD inquiries and appeals (up to 50% of responsibilities)
- Update and maintain Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other employee related documents
- Answers routine employee related inquiries, to include basic policy and procedure questions
- Review all inbound mail on our virtual mailing system and occasionally send mail via USPS / UPS / FedEx
- Respond to Verification of Employment Requests
- Gather information for submitting unemployment claims through the EDD
- Conducts data-entry audits company-wide, identifies and shares error trends
- Creates and runs various HRIS reports; ad hoc, and as needed
- Become familiar with HR tech systems and swing substitute app
- Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned by the HR Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years related experience
- You are highly curious, welcome questions, and delight in providing information and solutions for others
- You have a growth mindset and are adaptable to change
- Skilled at providing clear, effective, and timely communication to corporate staff and substitutes across multiple channels including email, ticketing system such as Zendesk, Slack
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to analyze issues, propose solutions, and address challenges
- HRIS system experience, including ADP
- Required experience navigating, completing data entry, and generating reports in an HRIS
- Dependable, flexible and possess the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with California Employment Law
- Unemployment Insurance claim experience preferred but not required
- You can work independently as well as be a truly collaborative partner
- Intermediate or advanced-level skills using G Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) experience required
- Exceptional planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment
