BASIC JOB PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager,the Human Resources Coordinator provides assistance with and facilitates the human resource processes of Call the Car. The human resource coordinator makes that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including recruiting and employee file maintenance.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Human Resources Manager
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment. May require evening and/or weekend work. Working under stress. The position requires long periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting at least 25 lbs.
RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:
1. Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
2. Maintaining personnel records, coordinating training programs, assisting with benefits. administration, and supporting HR projects.
3. May assist in the recruiting process, including posting jobs, tracking and reviewing, scheduling interview candidates.
4. Assist with employee onboarding.
5. Provide initial screening to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements.
6. Conducts reference background checks, employment verification and drug screen test.
7. Prepare new hire package.
8. Complete Forms I-9, E-Verify I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
9. Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
10. Files documents into appropriate employee files.
11. Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
12. Plan and organize annual company events.
13. Assisting with the performance review and termination processes
14. May also handle employee inquiries, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
15. Any other duties as assigned by management.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
1. Must pass a Criminal Background Screening.
2. Effective communication, organizational skills, and a good understanding of HR practices are crucial for this role.
3. Experience using PC software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
4. bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, and/or 3 years of relevant experience.
5. Able to type at least 45 wpm.
6. Exposure to California Labor law and federal employment regulations.
7. Take high volume of inbound calls.
8. Make high volume of outbound calls.
9. Availability to work hours between 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM Weekdays.
