Job Purpose
The Human Resources Associate’s main responsibility is to maintain the facilities time and attendance records. This position will assist in the coordination of the many aspects of Human Resources for the Auburn Hills facility.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The administrator and processor of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
Serve as liaison with facility supervisors and payroll contacts at Dana Employee Service Center.
Collect and track supporting documentation for all employee absences (i.e. sick days, bereavement, jury duty, etc.)
Provide employee customer service by assisting employees with questions and problem resolution in payroll, attendance and Human Resources
Maintain necessary employee data in MyDana and provide reports as requested.
Maintain employee personnel files and assist in the maintenance of attendance records.
Create and distribute disciplinary write ups to supervisors for attendance violations and ensure they are issued in a timely manner.
Prepare reports and work on other projects as requested by the Human Resources Manager and/or Controller.
Assist with the development, maintenance and communication of Safety Metrics.
Assist on the following items as needed: new hire orientation and the enrollment of new hires into the benefit plans, training and development, recruiting activities.
Assist with administration of benefit plans (Healthworks, HAP, 401K, etc) for active and retired participants, including the implementation and communication of new and existing programs.
Assist with administration of and compliance with COBRA, FMLA and various other government requirements.
Coordinate facility communications including newsletter, bulletin boards, and information postings.
Coordinate special activities including recognition events, holiday parties etc.
Assist with Labor Relations activities as necessary.
Participate in special projects and inter-departmental teams as necessary.
Various other projects and duties as assigned by the manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management preferred. May be willing to consider equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in payroll processing preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Dana’s benefit plans are a plus HAP & Helathworks.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Payroll & Human Resources laws required.
Excellent computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Word and Excel), and the ability to quickly learn new computer programs.
Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor to deal effectively with people at various levels inside and outside of Dana.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Must be extremely detail oriented and have excellent organization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work accurately with confidential information in a professional manner
Ability to us independent judgment and discretion along with a professional demeanor.
Must be a self-directed and motivated individual able to accept responsibility; able to work well in a team environment.
Must be able to use logical and analytical thinking skills to complete projects from conception to completion.
Must have a willingness to work variable schedule to ensure that key job responsibilities are accomplished
