Wage: $18/hr. + higher wage per experience


SUMMARY

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources on all personnel matters and is responsible for recruiting, on-boarding, and benefit administration. This position requires a self-motivated, goal oriented and dependable individual to create and maintain on-going relationships. A sense of confidence and a positive, friendly attitude are important.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Recruiting assistance, schedules pre-employment screening; writes and places advertisements.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and assists with other clerical functions.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
  • Files and scans paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE

6 months+ Office or Administrative experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is also required. Human Resources experience is preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPETENCE, AWARENESS AND TRAINING

Competence, awareness, and training for probationary employees will be assessed by the “Training & Competency Checklist,” the evaluation conducted at 90 days, as well as other training as needed. Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned to.
