To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. OFFICE AUTOMATION (OA) PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: Applicants must meet the following typing proficiency: 40 words per minute based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors In addition to the Proficiency Requirement, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following type of work and/or tasks: processing personnel paper work; compiling and presenting data for reports; providing basic information on personnel matters; maintaining a variety of personnel and general administrative records and files; providing orientation; dealing with a variety of personnel actions; typing to accomplish word processing/office automation responsibilities; receiving visitors and telephone call and exercising judgment in screening those which can be handled personally or be referred to other staff personnel or divisions. OR Successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following type of work and/or tasks: answer inquiries concerning job vacancies for which applications are being accepted; apply appropriate rules and regulations to determine pre-employment requirements; review documents for accuracy and completion. Assisting applicants with troubleshooting technical issues within the online application system. Processes personnel actions and utilizes other pre and post-employment HR systems in order to track actions and make appointments. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following type of work and/or tasks: experience in initiating and processing personnel actions (e.g. promotions, resignations, pay changes, new hire actions, change in duty stations) utilizing a variety of Human Resources related systems such as USA Staffing, EHCM, EWITS, ITAS, Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF). Experience in classification, payroll, employee benefits, employee retirements, recruitment and hiring, background investigations and pre-security. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
