HR Assistant (Benefits and DOT Coordinator)

Job Summary:

Assist HR Manager with daily activities. Areas of primary emphasis will be Benefits and DOT Coordination. Experience in both areas is REQUIRED.

Essential Functions:

• Build new employee files
• Gather missing documents from Plant Managers
• Email Cobra notices to Flex Plan Administrators, insurance election forms.
• Maintain Drivers list/notify Rich & Cartmill
• Handles terminating benefits as needed
• Handles 401k enrollments & disbursements
• Maintain medical card/CDL/MVR expiration list
• Medical Support Notices
• Email renewed medical cards to DPS (keep track of them being updated)
• Run MVR’s after medical cards
• Handles employment verifications
• Keep all HR files up-to-date
• Backup for payroll
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word and accounting software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High school or equivalent with coursework in HR/Payroll

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Prior Experience with Benefits Administration and DOT Compliance is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Education:
