HR Assistant (Benefits and DOT Coordinator)

Job Summary:
Assist HR Manager with daily activities. Areas of primary emphasis will be Benefits and DOT Coordination. Experience in both areas is REQUIRED.
Essential Functions:
- Build new employee files
- Gather missing documents from Plant Managers
- Email Cobra notices to Flex Plan Administrators, insurance election forms.
- Maintain Drivers list/notify Rich & Cartmill
- Handles terminating benefits as needed
- Handles 401k enrollments & disbursements
- Maintain medical card/CDL/MVR expiration list
- Medical Support Notices
- Email renewed medical cards to DPS (keep track of them being updated)
- Run MVR’s after medical cards
- Handles employment verifications
- Keep all HR files up-to-date
- Backup for payroll
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and accounting software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High school or equivalent with coursework in HR/Payroll
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Prior Experience with Benefits Administration and DOT Compliance is required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
