THE POSITION
As HR Administrator (Full-time Hourly), you will support the goals and functions of the Human Resources department by managing various administrative tasks related to Human Resources functions. Duties include, but not limited to, building and maintaining relationships with team members and managers, resolving HR related issues in a timely manner, maintain personnel records, support recruiting and onboarding, and update internal databases. This position is also responsible for executing special projects when appropriate.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Employee Records Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date team member records, including personal information and any changes in employment status from hire through separation.
- Manage team member records in HRIS system as well as electronic and physical employee files.
- Address routine team member inquiries and provide general HR information.
- Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborate with HR team in addressing employee concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws.
- Support managers in accurately maintaining time and attendance system for their team members to ensure accuracy for hours worked and other information (such as vacation time, sick time, leaves of absence, etc.) that impacts pay and attendance records.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Audit onboarding forms and follow-up as necessary.
- Assist in conducting reference checks and background screenings.
- Keep up to date on local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for HR audits.
- Assist in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Educate team members on HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
- Manage manual check process as required by law.
- Generate and compile HR reports for management as needed.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department.
- Prepare and distribute separation packets.
- Reply to employment verification requests.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives.
The Human Resources Administrator is often the first point of contact for team members regarding HR-related matters and plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. Adaptability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are key attributes for success in this role.
- Detail Oriented with proven organizational abilities.
- Strong technical foundation and ability to learn and apply new technology/processes.
- Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Experience with Dayforce a plus.
- Understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong critical thinking skills and good ethical judgment paired with the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
- While performing the duties of this job, the Human Resources Administrator is frequently required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and lift up to 15 pounds.
