What will you do?
As the Human Resources Analyst, you will serve as the Office's designated coordinator for administering the leave and disability program. Specifically, you will facilitate and process employee requests for programs including but not limited to Reasonable Accommodation, Family Medical Leave Act/California Family Rights Act rights, Worker's Compensation, Return-to-Work, leave of absence administration, Non-Industrial Disability Insurance, and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). As the Analyst, you will use good judgment to perform time sensitive case management for an assigned caseload; deliver outstanding consultative services to our staff; produce accurate, high quality work products; manage multiple tasks and priorities; establish and maintain effective working relationships; and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Specifically you will:
  • Determine the statutory and medical eligibility and various components of continuing qualifications for the office's leave and disability programs.
  • Serve as the primary resource to staff during the reasonable accommodation process.
  • Serve as the Limited Examination and Appointment coordinator, as well as the health and wellness, the EAP, and the upward mobility coordinator.
  • Manage a time-sensitive caseload for staff who apply for and/or receive benefits specific to the office's leave and disability benefits programs.
  • Monitor Industrial Disability Leave/Non-Industrial Disability cases.
  • Analyze relevant documents and apply appropriate statues, laws, and benefit requirements to individual cases, as well as maintain up to date knowledge on legislative changes and impacts on the leave and disability benefits programs.
  • Assists the office's Infection Prevention Coordinator with ensuring the office's COVID protocols, comply with current federal and state guidelines.
  • Assists with administering the office's Injury and Illness Prevention Program to ensure the office's safety policies, programs and procedures are current.
  • Research and develop written analyses on a wide variety of sensitive and complex Human Resources-related matters.
  • Develop, review, and facilitate the implementation of policies relating to a variety of Human Resources issues.

Working Conditions
  • This position is eligible for participation in the office's hybrid telework program. Work at the alternate work location must be conducted in a space that is ergonomically sound, private, distraction-free, and has safe working conditions to be eligible to telework.
  • Work performed in the office is in an air-conditioned high-rise building with elevator access and both natural and artificial lighting.
  • Work may require sitting for an extended period of time using a personal computer and the use of standard office equipment, such as phones, copiers or scanners.
  • Work may require periodic non-standard work hours and work during weekends to meet workload needs and demands.
