Human Resource Generalist
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Generalist advises, coaches, counsels and provides guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures, programs, employee relations, performance management and other Human Resources areas. Assists in the day-to-day operations and coverage of the Human Resource department; assists in the administration and communication of benefits plans and programs. The Human Resource Generalist reports to the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) and consults as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years' experience required:
- Requires BA/BS in Human Resources, Business or equivalent
- Three to five years of experience in a Human Resources role (specifically in a Generalist or Relationship Manager position); or equivalent combination including business related experience with strong emphasis on employee relations, performance management and relationship management.
- Three to five years' experience recruiting and onboarding experience.
- Must possess knowledge and experience with employment laws and regulations.
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Experience working with remote locations a strong plus.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills with a thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation and composition.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft products: Word, Excel, and Power Point and experience using e-mail systems.
- Must have experience working with a Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Strongly demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking capabilities; interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and proven time management aptitude is essential.
- Ability to work independently on projects as required; experience working as a member of a team on larger projects or processes.
- High degree of personal initiative and achievement motivation, setting personal standards of excellence and ongoing performance improvement.
- Ability to listen, understand and respond appropriately when interacting with individuals' groups.
- Must possess experience in or ability to act as change agent within the organization.
- Must be able to understand complex written and oral instructions.
- Ability to interact well with employees at all levels and outside contacts.
- Maintains high level of confidentiality, ethics, professionalism and customer focus in all aspects of responsibilities.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
