BlueLinx is hiring a Human Resources Generalist!
This will be a hybrid position based out of our corporate office in Marietta, Georgia.
The Human Resources Generalist will maintain and update employee data, such as employee status and information changes, and training information, in our Human Capital Management System and applications. They serve as the primary point of contact for unresolved HR day-to-day processing issues. Responds timely to requests for research, updates or general support from employees and people leaders. Partners with Human Resources Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Centers of Excellence, and leaders/employees throughout the business to ensure Human Resource policies and programs are aligned and administered appropriately based on BlueLinx' overall HR and talent strategies.
KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Confirms accuracy and integrity of data through periodic reviews to identify and avoid issues. Maintains a strong working knowledge of HR systems. Works closely with HRIS to maintain data as necessary. Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the HR function. Ensures Human Resources processes such as new hires, terminations, and salary changes are processed in a timely manner.
- Ensures the onboarding process is completed by ensuring activities are completed, details of an offer are processed, and programs are assigned accurately. Conducts New Employee Orientation.
- Partners closely with Talent Acquisition and related vendor to manage background checks and drug screens while providing a world class candidate experience.
- Administers enterprise programs such as service awards and car allowance. Responds to unemployment claims.
- Responds to incoming calls, emails, and tickets and assigns issues to the appropriate resource quickly facilitating resolution of issues. Researches policy and procedural issues.
- Identifies the need for new support procedures, policies, or communications. Meets HR operational standards with quality, integrity, and exceptional customer-service.
- May assist with employee events.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree required.
- HR certification a plus (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR)
- 3+ years of experience in related area of responsibility. Full life cycle, multi-state HR processing experience preferred. Ceridian Dayforce or Workday experience preferred.
- Highly organized and detailed oriented.
- High level of customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of HRIS and proficient using Microsoft Office and relevant tools/technology.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems and/or issues by using judgment consistent with HR standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or governmental law.
- Knowledge of HR Best Practices.
- Strong knowledge of company policies, labor laws and regulations relating to all employment functions.
