We are looking for a HR Specialist who will join our Scotts Miracle-Gro team! This role can be based in Marysville, OH or remote (CA or TX).
This position will support our Global Supply Chain Operations, including multiple functions such as manufacturing and distribution. You must be an intellectually curious individual, with high emotional intelligence, a strong sense of urgency, and a passion for finding creative solutions to business problems while maintaining continuity with standard practices and processes.
What you'll do in this role:

• Demonstrate leadership and guidance across manufacturing sites by coaching, counseling and problem solving with operations leaders, front line managers, and associates;
• Serve as an advisor to the leadership team by providing insight, coaching and HR-related solutions to business leaders in the effective management and development of their people and their organizations;
• Provides HR guidance and leadership on policy interpretation, performance management, and compliance with state and federal laws;
• Partner closely with HR leaders and peer HR Specialist projects and programs to solve business problems
• Partner with HR specialty groups (Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits etc.) to ensure strategic and tactical HR programs are executed flawlessly to drive talent growth;
• Provide talent related processes that build capability in our field leaders including recruiting, talent development, onboarding, performance management, culture, reward and recognition;
• Drive a positive culture that creates an inspiring associate experience;
• Acts as liaison between staffing agency, temp associates and management to coordinate work efforts.
• Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; preferably business administration, human resources administration, communications and other relevant degrees are preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in HR administration and/or HR operations
• Ability to travel on an as-needed basis (approximately 15%)
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relative to labor and employment issues (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.).
• Must possess excellent time management, prioritizing, and communication skills.
• Service mentality coupled with the energy and desire to make a positive impact in the workplace.
• Must include experience in a team-based environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
• An absolute commitment to confidentiality, honesty and integrity is required in this role.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus!
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience working with Workday is a plus.

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $64,300.00 - $75,600.00. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
