OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Human Resources Specialist is a key member of the South Texas Human Resources team and is responsible for accurate and timely transactions in HRIS and Payroll, first-level support to team members and is the record-keeper for all paper and electronic team member records.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage the day-to-day team member (and clinician) data changes including reporting relationships and hierarchy structure in HRIS.
- May prepare written change notice letters to team members detailing status changes including receiving and maintaining signed letters.
- First-level support for team members and managers for questions regarding pay checks, paid time off, benefits and directs them to other sources of information.
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of data within the systems and conducts regular data quality audits and clean-up activities.
- Assist payroll in conducting data validation checks to ensure accuracy and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and inquiries.
- Utilize data and report insights to HR team and market leaders on "people analytics" such as overtime utilization, meal penalties, turnover, vacancy rates, etc.
- Partners with People Operations, Finance, Payroll and Talent Acquisition to continuously improve processes, procedures and recommend updates to policies.
- Tracks completion rates and follows up with managers and team members related to required actions such as performance reviews, engagement surveys, policy manual attestations, etc.
- Responsible for compliant and timely completion of onboarding activities.
- Supports event planning related to new hire orientation and acquisition welcome meetings.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one year experience in human resources administration, payroll or talent acquisition.
- High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficient in data entry and HRIS systems, Workday experience preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Demonstrated understanding of onboarding, payroll, and leave of absence processes.
- Strong work ethic.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
