OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Human Resources Specialist is a key member of the South Texas Human Resources team and is responsible for accurate and timely transactions in HRIS and Payroll, first-level support to team members and is the record-keeper for all paper and electronic team member records.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage the day-to-day team member (and clinician) data changes including reporting relationships and hierarchy structure in HRIS.
  • May prepare written change notice letters to team members detailing status changes including receiving and maintaining signed letters.
  • First-level support for team members and managers for questions regarding pay checks, paid time off, benefits and directs them to other sources of information.
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of data within the systems and conducts regular data quality audits and clean-up activities.
  • Assist payroll in conducting data validation checks to ensure accuracy and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Utilize data and report insights to HR team and market leaders on "people analytics" such as overtime utilization, meal penalties, turnover, vacancy rates, etc.
  • Partners with People Operations, Finance, Payroll and Talent Acquisition to continuously improve processes, procedures and recommend updates to policies.
  • Tracks completion rates and follows up with managers and team members related to required actions such as performance reviews, engagement surveys, policy manual attestations, etc.
  • Responsible for compliant and timely completion of onboarding activities.
  • Supports event planning related to new hire orientation and acquisition welcome meetings.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of one year experience in human resources administration, payroll or talent acquisition.

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficient in data entry and HRIS systems, Workday experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Demonstrated understanding of onboarding, payroll, and leave of absence processes.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
