POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Representative & Safety Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY: In accordance with Corporate HR and Farm Operations standards and guidelines, this position provides HR support for the Location's complex in recruitment, training coordination, retention, employee relations and compliance. This position coordinates, implements and assists in the execution of HR programs in Production and Processing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safety First. Understands and follows all safety procedures. Knows and obeys all traffic and safety laws/regulations.
  • On behalf of the Safety Manager, monitors and advocates for safe work practices and use of appropriate safety equipment at all times.

HR Business Partner:
  • Works closely with location management to ensure employee engagement and satisfaction to prevent employee turnover. Assists management on evaluation and execution of employee engagement activities. Conducts employee new hire surveys, stay and exit interviews to assess opportunities to improve retention.
  • Consults with location managers on execution of HR processes, such as employee performance reviews, discipline, terminations, etc. Assesses and anticipates people related needs. Coaches and advises managers on the resolution of employee relations issues. Educates management on best practices.
  • Coordinates location execution of compensation program and practices. Advises man-agers on job and compensation changes. Analyzes and informs Operations HR Manager and location management of local market-based compensation needs and recommends solutions.
  • Coordinates referral bonus program, including recognition, and provides direction to managers and administrator about the program.
  • Advises managers and employees on location compliance with HR policy and programs, and creates initiatives with location management and HR Manager. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements and company policy. Provides regular training and consultation on expectations.
  • Provides direction and support for location administrator on personnel, compliance audit and safety file management; audits file management to ensure compliance with storage and retention requirements.
  • Works with Corporate HR on projects and initiatives.

Recruitment:
  • Routinely monitors staffing levels, conducts market analyses to assess labor shortages and solutions, maintains a master list of location's position openings, develops staffing plans with location managers, and establishes proactive local sourcing methods to fill positions on a timely basis.
  • Leads location recruitment activities to staff Production and Processing positions with skilled employees dedicated to efficiency and low cost production. Suggests location-specific adjustments to job postings, and reviews and selects candidates for open positions.
  • Participates in job fairs, school, campus and local events to build community relations and develop a high quality source of skilled candidates.
  • Trains, advises, and directs administrator on handling employment inquiries, producing offer letters, conducting background checks and pre-employment screenings, and applicant tracking.
  • Completes new hire documents, including Payroll Status/Change notices, and new hire packets, etc.

Training:
  • Advises managers and location administrator on on-boarding and training for new em-ployees. Works with hiring manager to develop effective onboarding plan for each new hire. Oversees, monitors, and advises managers on new hire onboarding process to ensure retention.
  • Collaborates with Operations management to identify location training and develop-ment needs, and works closely with HR Manager, Safety and Benefits Coordinator, Di-rector of Quality and others to develop timely resources and programs to ensure employee performance meets and maintains operations standards.
  • Coordinate new hire training with leads and managers. Summarizing feedback from new hires on the new hire process, to evaluate and make suggestions on program changes.

Consultation and Collaboration
  • Operations HR team member. Collaborates with Operations HR team to share ideas, trouble shoot issues, ensure consistency in HR practice, and conduct peer reviews. Works closely with corporate HR, Payroll and Accounting, and Quality.
  • Informs HR Manager of any compliance risks, HR policy and practice concerns, terminations and job changes, and HR initiatives to address location management priorities. Escalates risks, issues, concerns to HR Manager and Operations Management with urgency.
  • Participates in location management meetings to report status and advise on operations HR matters. Recommends improvements in HR and management practices.
  • Routinely runs and analyzes HR reports to assist management in location priorities and people needs. Assists location admins, management, and employees on resolution of UKG or Payroll questions.
  • Assists with other HR duties, as assigned.
