Job Description
ELIGIBLE TO TELEWORK UP TO TWO DAYS A WEEK AFTER TRAINING PERIOD.
This position will plan, coordinate, support, and ensure the delivery of professional law enforcement/criminal justice focused training, certificate programs, and special training events (conferences, summits, and meetings) that advance the statewide training mission of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. This position will be the point of contact for contracts and financial tasks for the Training Unit. This position recommends, creates course content, coordinates, and facilitates the delivery of BCA law enforcement/criminal justice training classes and conferences on behalf of BCA throughout Minnesota.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1. Two years of experience providing administrative support in training, instructional design, event coordination, or related area. NOTE: A bachelor’s degree may substitute for six (6) months of experience.
2. Strong organizational skills in planning, organizing, and managing multiple tasks with minimal direct supervision.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
4. Computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized software.
5. Skill in writing, proof reading, and oral communication.
6. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Safety, Instructional Design, or related field.
2. Experience coordinating professional training events such as planning, managing a budget, vendor communications, monitoring virtual training platforms for both internal and external instructors and customers and troubleshooting technical issues.
3. Experience coordinating and administering training courses.
4. Knowledge of virtual and online training platforms such as Webex, or other specialized software applications.
5. Experience working with program or contract administration.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
