The HR Manager oversees the day-to-day staff experience for a nonprofit organization with 70+ employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Plan and conduct new hire orientation to foster positive attitude and understanding of the organization.
- Work collaboratively with people managers to successfully execute recruitment process for new hires and contractors.
- Coordinate and schedule company required staff trainings.
- Review and update policies and procedures as needed.
- Ensure execution of annual performance reviews to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and timeliness within organization.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews.
- Works as the HRIS administrator within Paylocity to maintain and ensure continuity of the employee life cycle.
- Counsel employees and management to ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures in the workplace.
- Schedule and track employee random drug screening.
- Manage annual employee benefit enrollment process.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position supervises the HR department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field and or HR certifications.
- Five to seven years of human resources generalist experience including supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS, CAPABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE
- Strong understanding of HR Generalist duties.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
- Exercises sound judgment in responding to staff inquiries.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames; adapts to frequent priority changes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Team player; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels.
- Develop and main strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners.
