- Pay: $71,000 - $75,000 annually DOE
- Hours/Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, a mix of remote and in-office work with regular travel to café properties.

Who You Are: We are looking for an HR Manager with outstanding interpersonal skills, empathy, and a strong dedication to cultivating a supportive work environment that reflects the values of Caffè Umbria. The ideal candidate will navigate HR challenges with tact, uphold confidentiality, and contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere. Key qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. Experience instead of a degree will be considered. (HR certification a plus).
- Proven HR experience encompassing employment laws, regulations, and compliance, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, leaves management, onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, employee engagement, and training.
- Solid understanding of retail industry operations, with a focus on the unique challenges and dynamics of a retail setting.
- Flexibility and ability to travel to existing markets to deliver trainings.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR matters with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating effective communication and navigation skills in a close-knit team and ownership environment.
- Ability to pass pre-employment reference checks and background check.
What You’ll Do: As the HR Manager at Caffè Umbria you will be responsible for running the daily functions of the HR Department, including establishing and managing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing benefits and leaves, providing hiring process support, and supporting the growth and development of our team. This position is pivotal in promoting Caffè Umbria’s company culture by developing and maintaining practices that support a harmonious, equitable and positive workplace for employees. Responsibilities include:
- Run the HR Department for a diverse team of 100+ employees across multiple states.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Caffè Umbria, actively promoting and preserving the company culture.
- Manage medical leaves and support employees through the leave process.
- Provide coaching and training to managers on handling various HR matters.
- Support managers in the hiring process, conducting interviews as needed and providing guidance.
- Ensure adherence to HR policies and legal requirements in all states of operation.
- Stay informed on labor laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Foster a positive work environment, actively engaging with employees to understand their needs and concerns.
- Oversee performance appraisal processes, providing guidance to managers on feedback and improvement plans.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience.
- Administer employee benefits programs, addressing inquiries, and supporting enrollment processes.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for employees.
- Conduct on-site training sessions in existing markets, ensuring consistent standards across locations.
- Communicate policy changes effectively, ensuring understanding among employees.
- Oversee accurate and confidential HR record-keeping, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Effectively navigate and communicate in situations where adjustments are needed to meet ownership requirements while maintaining a positive and compliant work environment.
