Job Description
This role assists in supporting members with Human Resources projects and other member support needs. Delivers high level of customer service to members of the Association. This position works closely with other members of the HR department to coordinate on projects and other tasks.

- Assists with review of member employment handbooks, policies, practices, procedures, and HR templates
- Assists with audits of employment policies, practices, and procedures
- Assists with member recruitment projects
- Provides guidance on performance management, employee performance and conflict management issues
- Assists with development and review of job descriptions
- May assist in developing and delivering training on human resource related topics
- Conducts research to respond to member HR questions and assists other AI HR staff with research
- Assists with administrative maintenance of member Affirmative Action Plans, including maintaining templates, communicating with members on status of plans, and maintaining internal documentation and records.
- Assesses information obtained from members to determine if legal assistance is needed
- Must have a basic understanding of all the functions and services of AI and be able to respond to questions and direct members to appropriate resources
- Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, PFML, USERRA, etc.)
- May assist with daily leave administration to include collecting and reviewing employee leave claims, entering employee data into leave management software, regularly monitor status of claims and complete follow-up as needed.
- Interacts with AI members via telephone, e-mail, and meetings
- Works as a cooperative team member in the entire organization as well as the department
Requirements
Qualifications / Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, experience administering FMLA claims preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP desired or ability to obtain
- Knowledgeable in Washington State Law highly desired
- Working knowledge of FMLA, EEO, FLSA, ADA, and state leave laws
- Understand and maintain a knowledge of human resources theory and best practices
- Proficiency in, or ability to learn, PC applications including Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Ability to use remote conferencing software such as Microsoft teams, zoom, go to meeting, web ex.
- Ability to use multi-line phone system, computer, printers, and other equipment as deemed necessary
- Ability to work a flexible schedule

Benefits
The salary range for this position is $20.18 to $28.26 (per hour/annually)
Starting wage: $20.18 - $24 depending on experience
